Welcome to the web site of Abertridwr

The Land of Medieval Adventure

Abertridwr is a local branch of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) .

The SCA was created as a means to study pre-17th century history of Western Europe, through living it "the way it should have been". This involves re-enactment; performing activities, and wearing costumes of the styles from that time, all with the benefit of some of the modern conveniences.

It is a way to learn history, while having fun.

News from The Abertridwr Seneschal, dated 30 November 2011:

"The following just in from Mistress Catherine, Acting Seneschal of Lochac
"Master Bartholomew has completed his review of Abertridwr's application.
It is his, and therefore my, recommendation that the group should be considered for elevation to Baronial status.
This report and recommendation will now be sent to the SCAA and the Society Seneschal for their consideration."
One step closer."

Abertridwr is an SCA Canton within the SCA Barony of Aneala ,
which is within the SCA Kingdom of Lochac ,
which covers both Australia and New Zealand .

The Canton of Abertridwr includes the Perth (in Western Australia ) metropolian area, south of the Swan and Canning Rivers.

In Abertridwr, we have many sorts of medieval fun, especially Armoured Combat Tournaments, Feasts, Tavern Nights, Medieval Games Days, Archery, Costuming, Leather working, Armour Making, Fletching, Singing, Dancing, and all manner of revelry.

And, we discuss history and science, applicable to the period.
