Abertridwr Training/Practice/Meeting Sessions                                                  

On every second Sunday, in the morning, the friendly folk from Dragon's Bay have their training.

Generally, on each Sunday, in the afternoon, from about 1pm, we have our training.
unless another SCA event is on, or a Council Meeting is being held - see entry below, regarding Council Meetings
and see the Events web page, to find whether an event is listed for the day that you intend to attend training.

If you are coming to the weekly session for the first time, please call Rhianwen (Jo-Ann) (04) 0809 9346, first
- just in case another event is being held, in which case the weekly session will likely have been cancelled.

1) Fighter Practice

Fighter practice is generally held twice a week in Abertridwr, at two different locations,
and all are welcome, whether to fight or to watch.
Wednesdays, it's at Bastion
Email Kane for the address.
Armoured Training is held there most Wednesday nights from 6.30pm.
Sunday Practices are held at the at the Wandi Progress Association Grounds, from 1pm to 4pm
unless another SCA event is on, or a Council Meeting is being held - see entry below, regarding Council Meetings.
For the first few lessons in Armoured Combat we can lend you equipment
You must be 18 years of age or be 16 and have a parent or guardian accompany you for armoured training.

2) Archery Practice

Archery practice may be held once a week in Abertridwr and all are welcome, whether to practice or to watch.
Practices are held at the at the Wandi Progress Association Grounds  on Sunday afternoon, currently from 2pm to 4pm
unless another SCA event is on, or an Archery Marshal is not available,
or a Council Meeting is being held - see entry below, regarding Council Meetings

3) Dance Practice / Training

Social Dancing Practice Evenings

These are to be held on the first Saturday of each month starting 5th of May 2012
Start time: 7.00pm
This is a costumed event to enable practice in costume and/or with swords
Please bring a plate of food to share and your own drinks and goblet
Bookings are not required

4) Arts & Sciences Meetings

These are held at the Wandi Progress Association Grounds
concurrently with armoured combat training and archery.

5) Council Meetings

The Abertridwr Council Meetings are to start at 1:00 pm, at the Wandi Progress Association Grounds,
on the 2nd Sunday of the month
(unless there is an event on, in which case the changed date should be advised on the Abertridwr mailing list).

All are welcome; the more people who have input, the better the outcome.

6) Busy Bees

These are days of intense activity directed towards preparing for The Pencampwr Camping Event
or just creating the costume and props for Abertridwr in general.
They are held on the 1st Saturday of everymonth January to May then when needed.


The cost for attending a weekly session, is $2 a Sunday session.

(Just look for the Horses!).


DIRECTIONS TO WANDI TRAINING:
The key to getting to Wandi is to find
Rowley Road.

From the Kwinana Fwy, turn east into
Rowley Road.
From Nicholson Road, turn west into
Rowley Road.
Travel along Rowley Road until you find
De Haer road.
Travel south along De Haer Road,
on which the site lies,
looking for the signs on the east side of the road.
