Militant Society of Bards

The MSOBs (also known as the muh-SO-beez or the Militant SOB's) is a very loose, interkingdom confederation of performers from all over the Knowne Worlde. We are singers, storytellers, poets, musicians, jugglers, fools and other assorted entertaining people within the Society for Creative Anachronism

Our primary goals and standards of conduct are:

promote the bardic arts
share bardic material, host bardic circles and all that jazz.
teach our audiences two important thigs: "Always feed and water your bards and minstrels because then they come back!" and secondly, the word "More!". Applause is nice, but "More!" really gets your point across!
We carry a badge - actually, we just tend to wear various forms of motley. The rule of thumb is "when you wear your motley, you are ready to perform." The above heraldic badge has never actually been submitted to the SCA College of Arms, but it sure is cool.
We often tell people we are members of the Militant Society of Bards and then throw our heads back and laugh maniacally.
Efenwealt is not in charge - Please do not e-mail me asking for permission to join. Do not ask to be initiated or I will instruct you to do something very silly.
bemoan the fact that we used to be a really cool group of performers but seem to have drifted apart over the years, lost focus, and moved on to other things.
There is no eight goal. You're on your own for the rest.

The Motley Crew

An occaisonal newletter has been published on a now-and-then, sporadic kinda basis. It may come out anywhere from 0-6 times per year. (i.e. whenever there's enough stuff to publish a new issue). For information on subscribtions contact Damocles Truhart. He volunteered to do this a while ago, but I've not seen anything published since.
