The Officers of the College
The Seneschal
This is the chief officer of each group, and in college terms, they are often (though not always) the president of the club. They are responsible for the coordination of the other officers, and make sure that everything is running, events are happening and so forth. They are given a large key as the symbol of their office as the word Seneschal orrigionally means "Keeper of the Keys".
The Herald
These people are the ones who announce things at events, and help people create and register suitable names and devices. They are considered to be the voice of the King, and whilst "on duty" they wear a green tabard with two gold crossed trumpets.
The Minister of Arts and Sciences
This office involves coordinating all the Arts and Sciences activities within the group, such as costuming, music, dancing and others. For more about the Arts and Sciences see the Regular Practices section.
The Marshal
is responsible for supervising martial activities in the SCA and making sure that they are safe. There are different marshals for both Heavy fighting, Archery, Rapier and Cut & Thrust.
The Exchequer
is equivalent to treasurer. This position is currently vacant.
The Constable
often called Trolls, these people are responsible for general safety at events, collecting money at the door, and lost property.
The Hospitaller
this person is in charge of helping Newcomers, and has garb and feasting gear which you can borrow when you don't have any of your own. This is the person to call if you are new and have any questions.
The Chronicler and Web Minister
This person is responsible for the group's web site and newsletter.
