PROPOSED LAW CHANGE

As per the announcement in September Pegasus, The Crown have proposed to change the laws regarding Kingdom Levy and Profit Spilt on Crown events.

For full details please see the announcement in Pegasus.

In summary, the proposal would see the discontinued profit split of Crown events and instead apply Kingdom Levy per day of an event with a cap of 5 days.

EG - a 2 day event would require 2 x $1 Kingdom Levies, a 3 day event 3 x $1 Kingdom Levies, etc

The below table shows the current income and expenditure for the Kingdom for 2016, 2017 and 2018 up to 31st August. The end column '2019' is the predicted income and expenditure with the proposed new law changes.

The predictions for 2019 are based on the average expenses over 3 years. The Kingdom Levy figure has been calculated on the average number of days events are held over 3 years.

As you can see, we are currently spending more than we receive and as such, the proposed law changes will help to close that gap.

Please note - The proposed change in Kingdom Levy will not directly effect the profit/loss of an event. Kingdom Levy is added to an event fee the same way that event insurance is added for non members.

If you have any questions regarding the numbers, please feel free to contact the Exchequer exchequer@lochac.sca.org
