St Heironymus Device

College of St Hieronymus

Welcome to the College of St Hieronymus,
a branch of The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) based
at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
We are part of the Barony of River Haven (North Brisbane),
which in turn is part of the greater Kingdom of Lochac (Australia and New Zealand).

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA)
is an international non-profit educational and social association that is dedicated to the research and recreation European History from the sixth to the 16th Centuries.

We also welcome those with an interest in non-European history
(eg Persian, Mongolian) to play with us as well.

We focus on recreating medieval life by becoming involved in
costuming, cooking, martial arts of the period
(archery, tournament and war fighting, fencing),
dance, calligraphy, illumination, metalwork, music,
brewing, embroidery, theatre and much more!

Four years ago a number of people who belonged to
a local SCA group were studying at QUT and wanted to
get their friends involved in all things medieval.
Thus they started the QUT Student Guild Medieval Society.
Within the SCA this group is known as the College of St Hieronymus, after St Jerome (Hieronymus) a Patron Saint of Scholars.

Feel free to come along to one of the College's meetings. We love to see a new face.
