Duyfken replica 1606-2006 (400 year anniversary)
The Duyfken replica was made in the Western Australian Maritime Museum, Fremantle, from original sketches and authentic construction techniques.  It was a scout ship, patrolling ahead of the fleet. 
110 tonnes(empty)& 150 tonnes (fully laden). 24 m long &   20 crew.
The first recorded European contact with Australia was in 1606 when Duyfken reached the north coast and set foot at Pennefather River.
The replica visited Adelaide from 19-28 May (Port Adelaide, Queens Wharf) and will sail to Victor Harbor by sail 29 May.

SA Museum hosted a special exhibition of Leonard da Vinci's Codices and Machines. There were several of his designs recreated, some of which were available to the public to 'have a go'.
