One of the most visible activities in the SCA is heavy fighting. In the SCA, we use rattan swords. This allows the fighters to fight full speed with safety.

To fight heavy you are required to be 'authorised' - showing you are competent and safe. Your are required to have a minimum amount of armour for safety.
