The SCA greatly values skill in the arts of Calligraphy and Illumination. If you are interested in Medieval or Renaissance Calligraphy and Illumination, the Society is happy to teach you these skills.
The College of Scribes is a group of talented individuals who work tirelessly in creating the wondrous scrolls given out by the Crown. These include scrolls for Award of Arms up to Peerages such as Knight, Laurel, Pelican and County.
The local Warden (the College of Scribe's representative in Innilgard) is Mistress Leofwynn Wulfinga. If you are interested in becoming a scribe or in learning more about what they do, please contact her.
For further information about the College of Scribes, see http://lochac.sca.org/scribes/
Scribes can spend up to 6 - 12 months on a scroll, giving many hours of their time towards making works of art which add to the 'periodness' and theatre of the SCA and court. Scrolls can be worth $50- $500 or more!
If you have any questions or problems contact the Scribes Warden or Provost who can help you.

Innilgard's A&S Award is the Golden Owl (left).
It is given to those gentles who excel in their chosen field
of the Arts and Sciences and help others with the Arts and
Sciences. This includes Scribes!
The Kingdom level award for A&S is the Order of the
Golden Lilies (right). The highest award, for A&S in the
SCA, is the Order of the Laurel.
