November Crown AS XXXVIII

The Barony of Aneala (Perth, Western Australia) is the westernmost group in the Kingdom of Lochac. It is 1690 miles from it's neighboring group, the Barony of Innilgard, and 2161 miles from my home group of Krae Glas. Situated on the Indian Ocean coast, it is renowned for its warm climate, and the weekend of November Crown lived up to this.

A surprising number of gentles wayfared from all over the Kingdom to join the locals to partake in and witness the Crown Tourney to determine who would be 4th King and Queen of Lochac. Whilst the field was only graced with the presence of one member of the Chivalry I think it fair to say that, of those who fought, nearly any of them could have gone out in two rounds or have made it to at least the semi-finals. It was a very even list indeed.

The site was an absolute gem, being the heritage listed Fremantle Prison with its stone building, wonderful gardens and an immaculate lawn to fight on. The day featured the wonderful blue Anealan skies, and was quite warm. Under the gracious and noble supervision of Their Majesties, Alaric and Nerissa the tourney was commenced very shortly after the Invocation Court. By the end of the 6th round but 4 fighters remained, and they were paired off in the semi-finals. Baron Nathan Blacktower met Lord Daemon Morrison, and Baron Gwynfor Lwyd was matched with Viscount Sir Aedward Staedfaest. Both Barons were felled by their opponents, and so it was that Aedward and Daemon squared off in the best of three final. Fighting for the honour of his lady, Viscountess Yolande Kesteven, Viscount Sir Aedward Staedfaest prevailed on the day, and will be crowned King of Lochac in the Canton of Krae Glas at Twelfth Night. He will then crown Viscountess Yolande Queen, and Lord Daemon shall be Champion of Lochac.
