William Marshal Tourney and Feast
Investiture of Sir Hugh the Little and Lady Theresa Cummin as fifth Baron and Baroness Stormhold, and devestiture of Master Gwynfor Lwyd and Baroness Gwir verch Madog as Fourth Baron and Baroness
Held in the Barony of Stormhold on the sixth day of December, AS XXXVIII
Event Steward: Master Thorfinn Hrolfsson
Feast Steward: Baroness Gwir verch Madog and Lady Helga
The William Marshal Tourney and Feast is one of the two major events held in the Barony of Stormhold each year. Traditionally taking place on the first weekend of December, it is a celebration of the life of William the Marshal, who is held by many to be one of the paragons of chivalric virtue in the age of the Court d'Amour. Whether or not the man actually matched the tales of his deeds in reality or not, the virtues of honour and chivalry are nonetheless well worth celebrating, and Stormhold does this by holding grand melees, a chivalric weapons tourney and a ransom tourney during the day, and repairing to a hall for a high feast in the evening. This year also marked the time when Baron Gwynfor and Baroness Gwir stepped down as 4th Baron and Baroness Stormhold, and Sir Hugh the Little and Lady Theresa Cummin assumed the coronels.
Above you will find links to each of the elements of the day, the tourney, the feast and the courts. The images were taken by various gentles during the course of the day, and are by no means a comprehensive catalogue of the occasion, but one trusts they will serve to inform and delight to an extent.
