So, your thinking of Autocrating an SCA Event....
So, with there being twelve months in the year, that is a potential for having 24 local events each year. Minus Rowany Festival, Crown events and other big events, and Mordenvale could be hosting roughly 15 events per year. With only so much time in our mundane lives it can be difficult for most of us to "around the clock" autocrat events for a game/hobby. So that's why a group needs members who have "found their feet" in the game to give autocrating a go.
Events don't have to be big. We have Spring War, Tocal and Rhythm & Brews as overnight or weekend events, but that doesn't mean your first event has to be that big. A tourney and a pot luck meal is a great start to getting into what it is like to autocrat an event.
The best way to get an idea on what it is like to run an event is to help out the autocrat and feastocrat at the next event you go to. Ask them questions on preparing for the event, what went into the leadup, and troubleshooting problems before/during and after the event. This will give you invaluable experience into what goes into an event.

In Mordenvale, before you run an event you will need to fill in an Event Form and bring it along to the next Baronial meeting. Once you have your event approved it is all go, go, go! There are two current forms floating about for use; Mordenvale does not currently have a standard form (this may come). I have attached them below this page for easy opening/printing.
* To run an event you must be a member of the SCA (no, this does not include your College/Uni membership).
* You will need to work out how much your event will cost and how much you need to charge people to come to the event to cover the costs. You need to at minimum break even - better still have a profit!
