Hail, good gentles!

I know that now's not an ideal time to ask you to think about next
year - what with exams and everything - but Rowany Festival is cool
enough to merit a bit of attention even in such times.

Some of you may have heard about it already, but for those who haven't...

Rowany Festival is the largest SCA meeting in Lochac (which means
Australia and New Zealand combined). It's held over the Easter break,
and involves 5 days of living in what amounts to a medieval village.
Groups from all over the country have designated campsites in which
they erect their tents and pavilions, hang banners, dig firepits and
make into a little home away from home.

The war that is fought (which takes an entire day) is the largest in
the southern hemisphere, with multiple scenarios and large armies.
There is also a rapier field where classes are held most of the time
for those interested in the Gentle Art of Fence.
Arts and Sciences classes are also run throughout - that's where I
first learned fingerloop braiding.

Best of all, there are lots of other people to meet - and lots of them
are College students from other Universities!

Interested yet? But wait - there's more!

There is a plan formulating whereby the various Colleges of Lochac
will reside in a combined campsite; mixing people from Universities
all over the country.
In order to determine how much space such a campsite would require,
the organisers need some idea of the numbers of collegians that will
be attending.

So, if you want to come to Rowany Festival and mingle with fellow SCA
Collegians in the combined campsite, please give me a buzz.
Or if you want to have more information about the event, give me a buzz also.

At the moment, we're not asking "Are you definitely coming" - rather,
"Do you think you'd like to come?"
Expression of Interest is the name of the game!
