This is the web site for the barony of Politarchopolis, geographically located in Canberra, Australia. For more
information, follow the links to
Information, Contacts and our list of regular and special Events.
Event Notification
If you're lined up to run a feast, tourney or other event, you will want it to appear on this website. The quickest way
to make that happen is to fill out this form as accurately as possible and click Send. Your information will be sent to
the Deputy Hierophant, who will stick it on the calendar.
This form looks long because of all the explanatory notes, but it isn't really. You should have all this information at your fingertips anyway.
This will appear on the events page pretty much exactly like this:
- [Concise Name Of Event]
- [Short Description]. [Price].
- Bookings [Required] by [Date] to [Bookings Officer] ([Booking Contacts]).
- [Venue]
- [Dates] [Times]
- [Web Site Link]
Remember: the goal is to provide essential information about an event, not to advertise it. You should have advertising
flyers, information in Griffintayle and possibly even a web page about it elsewhere. The events page here is only a memory
jogger and a pointer to those other resources.

Bookings Policy
The barony has a Bookings Policy for its events, but it's still unofficial. Take a look, and let the
Seneschal know if you have any suggestions.
Officers' Blogs
Every baronial officer is now welcome to set up a blog, or web log, to communicate with the barony about their portfolio.
If you're an officer, you can use your blog to keep in touch with the barony and with the seneschal and baron and baroness,
so they know what you're up to. Owain is quite happy to take your blog posts as your official report, if you keep them
reasonably up to date.
As a service to the barony while the sca.org.au server waits for an upgrade, Karl Faustus von Aachen is hosting the blogs on
his personal website. Once the sca.org.au server is upgraded, the blogs will move
over there, but all the old content will be carried over.
Check out the list of officers' blogs here.
Help With Heraldry
Jehan de Bonifacio writes: For those who are wanting to work on their own device (it's soooo pretty to
see all those banners and shields) there are 342680 (new version!) pages of traceable heraldry at
the Æthelmearc College of Heralds website. [NOTE: PDF file; requires Acrobat Reader or equivalent.]
Each blazon has a couple of pages with a wide range of sizes for you to use,
rather than having to scale your pictures up and down by hand. The best
thing is that all the pictures come from approved devices so it is mauch
easy to get your device submission approved.
Photo Gallery
The latest addition to the site is the photo gallery. If you have any photos you'd like to add, please contact the
Hierophant. And if there are photos of you that you don't want on the site, let him know that too and he'll take them down.
We're still missing a lot of the attribution and copyright details for the existing photos. If you're the photographer or
you own the rights to any of these photos, please get in touch to confirm their status.
