Radburne's Bardic Challenge
Baron Hrothgar and Count Stephen did challenge the populace, on the occasion of Radburne's first feast, to provide entertainment for the assembled guests. After those in attendance did successfully meet this challenge, Their Excellencies further challenged the (then) Shire of Radburne to match or exceed those worthy diversions on each anniversary feast by means of a competition. The Bardic Challenge Honour Roll lauds the winners.
In the winter of AS42, Radburne held its first war. In the spirit of the aforementioned nobles' challenge, the people did entertain one another around the fire with songs and other diversions. On this occassion a prize was awarded to the most entertaining, and thus the Challenge now occurs at both of Radburne's major events.
Even though the Shire of Radburne has become House Radburne, the Bardic Challenge continues.
