This e-mail list discusses Civilian combat with swords (and related weapons) in the Rennaisance through to Elizabethan period of Western Europe, also known as SCA Rapier Combat. The list is primarily concerned with the Kingdom of Lochac, but welcomes people from other kingdoms, especially West, An Tir, Caid, and Ansteorra.
If you want to discuss SCA Rapier in General, you are better off subscribing to RapierNet [Majordomo@Ansteorra.org and include ONLY this Line in the body: subscribe sca-rapier].
No commercial messages are welcome, excepting those specifically relating to SCA Rapier which are brief and infrequent. No off-topic messages are welcome. You may freely advertise SCA events that have a fencing component. No attachments may be sent to the list. Violations of any of the above will result in removal from the list and complaints to your ISP.
An archive of all messages ever sent to the list is available via the web interface listed above.
Message volume for this list is fairly low. Typically, 15-20 messages per week during busy periods, but routinely only 4-5 messages per week. The list is unmoderated, but closely monitored by the list maintainer.
Highly recommended for all fencers and rapier marshals in Lochac. All Lochac rapier marshals should subscribe to this list.

The Classical Fencing Mailing List is a forum for discussing the art and practice of European-based classical and historical fencing.
While the term "Classical Fencing" refers to approximately the 19th century, styles and periods discussed on this list include any established European school (usually, but not necessarily, French, Italian, or Spanish) of civilian swordsmanship from the 15th-19th Centuries. Weapons include foil, épée, sabre, smallsword, and rapier & dagger.
With several hundred subscribers, including many experienced and knowledgable fencers and fencing masters with dozens of years of combined experience and knowledge of classical fencing and historical swordsmanship, the list represents a unique opportunity to share ideas and learn more about this rare martial art.
Please note that this list is NOT for discussing modern sport (i.e. Olympic-style) fencing, historical reenactment, stage combat, mythical/fantasy swordplay, military combat, or Eastern martial arts and sword forms, as other venues exist for discussing those topics.
