Officer Resources
Holding an office within the College can be rewarding work as you can have experience in the administration, however, often people recieve an office without knowing what it entails or what they are supposed to do. These resources should be able to give you some assistance in holding your office well and will also help in the wider SCA
The Seneschal
It is the Seneschal's job to look after things and make sure everything runs smoothly. because the Seneschal has the official responisbilities where there is no one else it can be daunting, but you can always delegate.
The Lochac Seneschal Resources Page should prove helpful in running this office if you encounter troubles.
For the C&S side contact the office if you need help
Deputy Seneschal
It is the job of the Deputy Seneschal, like all deputies, to assist their main office bearer. The Seneschal might designate specific tasks for their deputy, or else it is the deputy's job to simply help where they are needed
Reeve
The Reeve is the treasurer of the group, so it is their job to look after the money. Don't worry if you have no idea about finances and accounting, all you need to do is record the money we make and what we spend and what on.
Revve resources can be found here
.Arts and Sciences
To be an A&S officer you don't need to be very good at something or know alot, you usually just need to encourage people to make or do things or find someone who can teach things. To find someone who can teach asking around is always good if you don't know who you are looking for. Your local lists or laurel should be able to help.
Your general resources are here
Herald
The herald has two main jobs, assisting people in submitting their name and device and the person with the loud voice. This loud voice is usually used to let everyone know something or being a 'master of ceremony' and announcing things in court
.The College of Heralds can be found here , or if you want to know where someone is ranked within Lochac, you can find out in the Order of Precedence
Marshal
To be a group marshal you usually have to be an authorised marshall, as without a marshall present a group cannot do any type of combat. The marshall is essentially the safety officer, making sure no one is hurt and everyone enjoys the game
Marshall resources are here
Chronicler
The chronicler lets everyone know what is happening. They usually edit the newsletter and write some of it too
Chirurgeon
The Chirurgeon is the first aid officer. To hold this office you need to be a current first aider
The Kingdom page is here
Constable
The constable gets to look after the legal side of things by making sure everyone signs in at events. For the College we don't need this function as we don't have the SCA legal side. Instead the constable would look after the funding forms from the C&S office
Hospitaller
The hospitaller looks after all the group's things and new people. It is their job to organise equiptment for new people so they feel welcome into the group, they also have the job of recruitment.
You can find more information here
Webwright
It is essentially the webwright's job to look after the website. If you can make the group's website very specky you can win the Golden Quill for your group
.List Keeper
The list keeper is the score keeper in tounaments. Just remember the pen is mightier than the sword as it can change your list results
There are lots of different types of tournaments so there is a guide to help you
