Stormhold Baronial Awards

The Barony of Stormhold has various baronial level awards. The awards are usually given directly to the recipients at Baronial court.

Drakkar Awards:

* Baronial Commendation: usually the first award people receive, given for being useful and considerate.

* Order of the Silver Drakkar: Baronial level service award for running/assisting with offices, events and general support work.

* Order of the Gold Drakkar: for exemplary courtesy, chivalry, hospitality and all round niceness... generally only one or two a year are given.

Other Awards:

* Order of the Goutte de Pearl: Baronial level Arts and Sciences award, for work in the creative activities of the SCA.

* Order of the Storm Lantern: for teaching the skills of the SCA, whether service, A&S or martial.

* Order of the Gallant Drakkar: for service to the Barony by someone who does not live in the Barony.

* Order of the Drakkar's Sweep: for cleaning/washing/setting up/kitchen duty/behind the scenes work for events or activities.

* The Hood of Warmth. A gift to those new to the Barony. The Hood is to represent to the recipient the Warmth of the Barony. The current practice is to give the recipient an actual woolen hood to be worn, especially in the cold.

Award Recommendation

To recommend someone for any of these awards, send a message to the Baron and Baroness.

Anyone can recommend anyone else for an award.
The form of the recommendation can be written, email or other means as long as it is able to be sent to the Baron and Baroness. The recommendation will not necessarily be acted upon, but the suitability of the award nominee will be considered by the Barony.

If anonymity is required, the award recommendation can be sent via a third party such as the Seneschal.

Award recommendations can be suggested not only for individuals, but also for groups and households. A person may recommend more that one person at a time and multiple awards recommendation do not diminish the worthiness of any particular recommendation.
