2 new field heralds had a go at Monthly Bash. Iit was AGREED that a "cheat card" be made for field heraldry at tourneys.

One name and one device were submitted last month.

Constable
Monthly Bash income was $116, from 25 members, 5-6 Non members and assorted children
Tuesday nights have earned $25 and $17 and were attended by 9members, 2 nm and 2 children AND 7members, 1nm and 2 children respectively.

Fridr will be constable at Monthly Bash in November

There is a blue envelope with constable paperwork in the cupboard in the Bucket.

St Bart's
The inaugural general meeting will be held next Tuesday (17 Oct)

Marshal
There was no marshals report submitted prior to the meeting.

Rodrigo has barstock to make shelving for the Bucket and is currently making large wooden wheels for the archery butt.

Arts&Sciences
September was cancelled due to sickness.
October will be held in sunbury at Hanbal and Ute's and will cover basic garb.

Chronicler
The file size of Stormscroll needs to be smaller, for ease of sending by email.
A volunteer proof reader would be welcomed.

Business from the previous meeting
Fealty Rings are to be bought.
Ballarat Medieval Festival had 2000 attendees, no one died and merchants were successful. It's a good venue for making money from medieval "stuff".
Feast of Friends and Frivolity was cancelled due to lack of bookings.
Kensington Community Hall is going well, there are several enthusiastic beginners attending and the external lighting is good. Consensus is that the venue works. We need a padlock for the cupboard, GENNA will get one (she did!)

General Business

Demos
The next Historic Events demo will be on January 20/21 at Yarra Valley Archery Park. Villana is in the process of negotiating an increased presence at this event and is using the yahoo group SCA_Vic_Demos@yahoogroups.co.uk to coordinate this with interested SCA'ers.

The group of people currently involved are from all Melbourne groups and it was suggested that any payment we receive for participation would be split pro-rata according to the number of attendees from each group. Villana will speak with the seneschals of Krae Glas and Arrowsreach and submit a proposal to Historic Events by 20 October.

We need to focus on improving the authenticity of footwear and garb, to comply with the requirements of Historic Events. Sara and Villana will run shoe workshops on Tuesdays in November to facilitate this.

We can't demonstrate our fighting at the demo, as there are a number of groups already demonstrating their fighting and there is no space.

Events

Cairnfell event on 21 October.

November Monthly Bash on 11 November. Baron and Baroness Southron Guard will be visiting.

Arrowsreach Royal Visit 18 November.

Lyos Picnic will be held on Sunday 26 November at Mt Franklin. There will be a Tourney and Treasure Hunt.

William Marshal - 2 December. Organisation is going smoothly. Thorfinn will attend events around Melbourne to sell tickets.

Hanbal has offered to run an archery day on 17 June (date to be confirmed with School). The traditional archery club will bring archery butts and animal-like targets and the archery club members will sign our waivers and pay our fee. We will provide some hospit garb and strongly suggest club members dress appropriately.
