Reports
Reeve
Stormhold has $11,700 in bank. The Reeve is very keen on getting a successor, nominations welcome.

Herald
Robin (from St Monicas) voice heralded at Monthly Bash. It was AGREED Herald should acquire set colouring instruments for submissions. Crux meetings were now being held in Stormhold due to Talith being Deputy Crux.

Constable
At September Monthly Bash, $68 paid:
Members: 13 Adults, 5 Minors
Non-Members: 8 Adults, 2 Minors.
It was AGREED that 15 years old was the cut off for paying.

St Bartholomews
No activity (mid Semester)

Arts & Sciences
Heraldry at Talith’s had 7 attendees.
Next month’s A&S meeting is to be negotiated. Probably compost (i.e. pickles). The flavouring/sugar mix of period brandy and possible Sunbury A&S gatherings aimed at newcomers were discussed.

Marshal
Seneschal presented the Marshal’s reports for last month:
Fighting continues in the Barony. 2 fighting events since the last meeting (Cairnfell & Monthly Bash).
Stormhold has few authorised fighters and Marshals. Have asked for all currently training but non-authorised fighters & Marshals in training to contact Marshal so can track this.
No combat archery has occured within the Barony for a while. Would like to try & renew the combat archery at Monthly Bashes. This will most likely involve combatants from the Heavy fighting so will need to be scheduled slightly offset. Requested ideas & discussion.
Rodrigo is investigating a means of increasing the storage of the container (shelves attached to the walls) - when this is done we should contact Shar, who has in the past advised that he has the Baronial Trebuchet & also some mobile Pavisses. These items could be then located in the container.
Variations to monthly bash format. Suggest that each monthly Bash have a slightly different theme to them - if everyone is happy will ask for suggestions & in conjunction with Lists advertise each tournaments style at least 1 week prior to Bash.

And additions for this month:
The barrier worked well at last bash - for a quick impromptu version - I would like for us to build one to be stored in the container (shouldn't cost too much in timber) but can be "pretty" to look at.
Still no interest/response regarding Deputy Marshal.
Won't be at next monthly bash - Master Cormac has agreed to be / organise a Marshal in Charge.

The above, particularly notions of varying Bash themes and staggered scheduling, were supported.

Rodrigo has the Archery butts for repair.

Chronicler
Stormscoll went out. Put in a plea for flashy pictures or material for Stormscroll.

It was NOTED that it was incumbent on officers in the Regnum to forward their details to both the Stormscroll Chronicler and the Lochac Keeper of the Regnum.

Seneschal
Announced a successor had been agreed and the changeover would take place in January. There would be no January Baronial Council Meeting.

Looking for a Deputy Seneschal. Would only appoint someone who designated successor was also comfortable with.

It was AGREED that the Barony would purchase its pair of Fealty Rings as arranged by Baron Hrothgar of Rowany.

General Business

Ballarat Medieval Festival
Would be having a Baronial display at Ballarat Medieval Festival

Having a feast of Friendship and Frivolity to try and capitalise on any interest from Medieval Festival.

November Bash
It was AGREED that November Monthly Bash would be on Sunday the 12th to avoid the clash with November Crown.

Kensington Community Hall
The characteristics of Kensington Community Hall were presented. Suitable for multipe use at same time. It was AGREED would hire and trial as alternative site for current Wednesday night fighter practice, Seneschal to follow up.

Melbourne University Orientation Week
Organisers of overall week are not sure yet what they will be doing. Cut-off week for submissions needs to be kept track of. Further discussion next meeting.

Meeting closed at 9.15pm.

Meetings are open to all members of the populace

(Please report any errors in these minutes to the Seneschal so he can fix them.)
