The Heart of Winter

An event by the Canton of Cairn Fell.

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

Event open 1pm. Cooks demo 1:30pm, Tourney starts at 2:30pm, Food served at
5:30pm.

Venue is Garabaldi Hall. 15 mins from Ballarat. Directions below.

Cost is $17 members, $20 non-members, kids under 16 pay equal to their age
(-$2 if they are members), kids under 5 free. Cheques payable to SCA Cairn
Fell.

Bookings required by Wednesday July 26th, payment at the door. No booking,
no food.

(bookings taken from July 1st onwards) Billeting available, but must be
pre-booked!

Come one, come all!
To a feast to warm the soul. Good food, good company and a warm open
fireplace to toast your toes. There is a good playground for the kids and
the grown ups can join in the Unusual Weapons Heavy tourney (Two handers,
Florentine, etc. No sword and board please) or take part in a delicious
demonstration by the Cooks guild. There may also be an archery competition,
permission pending. This is a chance to shake out that lovely layered
winter garb so dress warmly. A&S competition is "wall decoration", so be
creative and you could win a most excellent prize.

This is a small intimate hall and seating is limited so please book your
place early so as not to miss out.

Directions to Garabaldi Hall: From Ballarat take the turn off to
Geelong/Buninyong (Doveton st). Follow this road out of town until you come
to Buninyong roundabout, take the right hand turn to Durham lead. Follow
this road for about 6 kms until you see a street sign on the left, pointing
right saying "hall". You should be able to see the hall from the road here.
Take a right and if possible, please park somewhere safely along the road to
keep the venue car-free.
