Words from the Baron and Baroness for December 2009

Greetings to the populace of Stormhold and surrounds.

We would just like to say thank you to everyone who has participated within the Barony and surrounds since we stepped up as Baron & Baroness in July this year.
You have all made us feel very welcome in these new roles and have been most willing to assist when needed, whether it be big or small.

And completing things nicely, the year finished on a high - with (as an oldtimer of Stormhold was heard to say) ".. one of the best William Marshal's in some years!" And was followed by an excellent day in the sun on the Sunday, with lots of archery & rapier (and we now have new moving targets stored in the Armoury).

The King & Queen enjoyed their journey to Stormhold immensely, and most importantly left with a real feeling for who the populace of this Southern Duchy really are.

Our congratulations go out to all those who received awards on the weekend - our new Herald will publish details soon (and they should also appear in Stormscroll when it kicks off under the direction of a new Chronicler towards the end of January (first edition being February 2010).

We hope you will all enjoy your yule time celebrations, doing whatever it is that brings joy and happiness to you and those around you.

We start the new year in a new hall - with details to be published shortly - and the first big event for the year will be the Surveying Expedition - which we know will be a blast and we look forward to seeing many of you there.

Please be safe over this festive season and have a good new year.

Yours in Service and best wishes
Hanbal al Barbari & Ute Von Tangermunde
Baron & Baroness Stormhold
