SURVEYING EXPEDITION MMX

Last year we celebrated the long weekend in January by roasting a sheep, learning how to prepare chickens for the pot, camping, fighting, feasting in the open, enjoying meals cooked over an open fire, shooting with our bows and taking the children on pony rides!

This year we intend to do it all again! Only this time we will be preparing rabbits for the pot, having a range of organised children’s activities, Arts and Sciences collegia and market day. We will also be watching an equestrian display as well as having the opportunity to explore the role that horses can play in the SCA.

William Marshal Memorial Tourney and Feast, Stormhold

This will be a Royal Event, with Their Majesties King Gabriel and Queen Constanzia attending

A chivalric weapons tourney will be held on at Circle of Trees, Edinburgh Gardens, Alfred Court, North Fitzroy (Melways 2C-E1) from 11 AM, followed by a catered feast at Bokscai Hall. StGeorges Road, North Fitzroy, (Melways 2C-C1) from 5PM.

Entry by tickets at
$25 for members,
$30 for non-Members
under 6 $ 0 | 7-12 $10 | 13-18 $15

Please make cheques payable to S.C.A., Stormhold. Tickets will be on sale from the autocrat NOW to the 4th of December (or until sold out). Direct Deposit , by request
(wayfarers by arrangement with the autocrat).

Please join us as we farewell Sara and Rodrigo and welcome Hanbal and Ute.

We’ll have a large hall with supper (provided by Mistress Gabriella della Santa Croce), dancing and court and a large outside space for fires and chatting.

Then get ready for the Midwinter Coronation the next day!

Late bookings: $5 after 10 May, $10 after 28 June or at the door

Arts & Sciences in Stormhold, 2009

Regular, weekly meetings are held on Tuesday nights, at the South Kensington Craft Hall, and Thursday nights, at the Clifton Hill Hall.

On the first, third and fifth Thursdays of the month, dance class and practices are held at Clifton Hill, and the fourth Thursday of the month is an Arts and Sciences meeting.

The following explanation of what this is all about has been helpfully provided by Lady Asfridhr:

"What is involved in a Christmas party?" you ask, well hopefully this will be the e-mail that clarifies what I've been rambling about on Stormlist for a while now.

It is a pot-luck evening, where you bring along something to eat or drink (doesn't have to be a medieval food, chocolate seems popular)and a small Kris Kringle gift to swap with someone. If you're extra-enthusiastic, then dancing shoes and a singing voice would certainly be welcomed.

The Kris Kringle gift is just something small, under $5,
