The Lochac Midwinter Coronation is being held in Stormhold at the beautiful Abbotsford Convent

The Coronation will take place during the day and will be followed by a late afternoon feast and ball in the evening.

Are you eager to expand your holdings? Looking for wealth and glory?
Scouting parties are called upon from all the Baronies to survey the rich and picturesque lands of Cairnfell (Ballarat). Enjoy a fully catered 3 day camping event, revel in the company of people from all over Lochac and pat the pony. Dust off your camping gear and add those finishing touches to your armour as this is a great weekend to prepare and fine tune your kit for Rowany Festival. War scenarios begin at 10am on Saturday. Come and show your support for martial activities in the Southern Lochac region.

Event date: 24th, 25th and 26th January, 2009. (Australia Day long weekend)
Site open: From 5pm Friday 23rd, to 1pm Monday 26th.

All good gentles are invited to a day dedicated to all the joys of Dancing - both the
music and the steps.
Dance and music classes will be taught during the day.
After a break for dinner (off site), the merriment will continue with an evening
Ball.

Dancers and musicians who would like to try for the Silver
Rondelle and a Silver Semibreve will have the opportunity to do so.

William Marshal Memorial Tourney and Feast, Stormhold, A Royal Event

A chivalric weapons tourney will be held on Saturday, December 6th. at Circle of Trees, Edinburgh Gardens, Alfred Court, North Fitzroy (Melways 2C-E1) from 11 AM, followed by a catered feast at Bokscai Hall. StGeorges Road, North Fitzroy, (Melways 2C-C1) from 5PM.

An extra dance practice on the second Thursday this month.

I will be reviewing, and perhaps photographing, the Baronial hospit garb at Kensington on Tuesday night. If you have Baronial hospit you have borrowed and wish to return, no questions asked, bring it along. If you wish to book an outfit for July Bash and/or Yule in July, come along for a fitting.

Learn the basic elements of this age-old craft.
Add extra skills to your woodworking.
Develop techniques to make different types of SCA gear.

How can this mighty challenge happen?

Using various resources within the region encompassed by the Suth Guild,
the Esteemed Brother Waldo Turner (Member or the Embittered Poor) will
be providing instruction on the day. There will be at least three wood
turning lathes and ancillary equipment available on the day and
instruction will be provided by him and his little helpers on their use.
