This is a Real Tournament that usually occurs on the first Sunday of each month and shows off the fighting talents of the local fighters. We also hold court, chat, picnic,do archery, sew, and wear medieval clothes. Monthly Bash has been going for Twenty Years and is a great way to participate in a fun medieval setting.

If you are a newcomer, why not telephone to let us know that you will be there. That way, we can try to dress you in suitable and warm costume. Ring Karen on 0417 596 524 or e-mail for more information or help

September Monthly Bash and Baroness' Birthday Championship

Due to to Rowany's 25th Anniversary, September Monthly Bash has been moved to 26 August.

Fortuitiously, that's the day after the Baroness' Birthday and is therefore a good time to determine her Champion.

The format is to be determined. Got any ideas/preferences? Tell the Baroness.

The Baroness' Champion will be chosen from the Combatants and will be that person displaying the virtues of a champion; fighting prowess, chivalry, good looks and usefulness.

Help with organising Baronial Commendation Tokens
They are currently a silver background with a gold drakkar, so require two separate casts.

Heavyweight felted wool to make Hoods of Warmth
Each hood uses a bit more than half a meter of fabric. If the wool is felted, it doesn't have to be hemmed, speeding up the construction process considerably.

Memorial to Tyr

A two-day celebration to honour Tyr and his brave act of sacrifice in the binding of the terrible wolf Fenrir.

Activities:
Saturday: Viking style tourney, feast in the evening, games, dancing, singing and bonfire
A&S: Wattle and Daub making class (free), Sugarcraft class ($5)

Sunday: Viking 'raid' heavy combat challenge, treasure hunt

...and anything else we can think of. More will be forthcoming closer to the event.

Competitions: a dish baked in the coals of a fire, an article made with fur

Cost: $35 whole weekend, $20 Saturday only, kids under 12 free

An Afternoon of Archery

The SCA in Victoria has a great history of Archery.
To add to that the SCA Stormhold invites one & all to:
An Afternoon of Archery
Sunday, 17 June 2007
Traditional Archery for all with a medieval feel
Setup & registration from 12noon - 1st tournament to commence 1pm
Lower oval, John Gardiner Reserve, Auburn Road, Hawthorn, Victoria

The afternoon will include;
- The day will commence with a King Rounds scores from this will form part of the Wildwood archery multi-event competition. For those that have not competed in such this will take the form of 6 ends (various ranges) including 2 speed rounds,
- a animal target shoot (roving with 5 targets, 2 rounds),
- Several novelty shoots (wand, flu flu or clout) flu flu arrows will be provided if needed as time permits,
- The SCA will provide a demonstration of the combat archery including an Agincourt run (live target shooting for all),
Merchants & Traders welcome to attend with Medieval stalls please liaise with the Steward
Prices listed are SCA Member / SCA Non-Member (all children under 12 are free)

* Participating children aged 12 to 15 half price Competition is restricted to 12 years & over *
* All entrants will need to supply their own arrows at least 8 recommend 10 in case of breakage *
* The SCA requests that all those attending make an attempt at Medieval costume *

There are strange happenings going down at a tavern down near the wharfs and some one has to discover what is going on.
The queen is venturing down to the tavern to see if she can uncover what is happening in Stormhold and is after help from any and all who can attend.
