This is a Real Tournament that occurs on the first Sunday of each month and shows off the fighting talents of the local fighters. Monthly Bash has be going for Twenty Years and is a great way to participate in a fun medieval setting.

This month is likely to be very quiet, as many in the Barony will be at Rowany Festival. If you haven't been to a Bash before, we suggest you come to May Bash instead.

Lardfest is an adaptation of Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent when Medieval people ate pancakes to use up their stores of eggs and FAT.

We're going to use the facilities at Tuesday Night Fighter Training and Craft Hall (an industrial kitchen) to test cooking and eating fatty, sugary food like doughnuts, olliebollen and anything else you bring to deep fry.

We'll also experiment with the taste and cooking effects of cooking with different types of fat - pork, duck, beef, vegetable etc.

Please bring your cooking experiments, sugar, curiosity and appetite.

Come and be seen in your most fabulous clothes and a mask.
Enjoy an evening of dancing and socialising while we celebrate the turning of the year in the style of the Venetian Renaissance.

The theme is venetian masked/costume ball so we encourage you to consider the costumes which would have been worn by Venetian nobility when they attended a masked ball.

All through February we will be testing the reality of pastry to see what happens when we cook it with different fats & products. Shrove Tuesday will be lard fest. Bring your dough to be fried.
