Words from the Baron and Baroness for December 2009

Greetings to the populace of Stormhold and surrounds.

We would just like to say thank you to everyone who has participated within the Barony and surrounds since we stepped up as Baron & Baroness in July this year.
You have all made us feel very welcome in these new roles and have been most willing to assist when needed, whether it be big or small.

And completing things nicely, the year finished on a high - with (as an oldtimer of Stormhold was heard to say) ".. one of the best William Marshal's in some years!" And was followed by an excellent day in the sun on the Sunday, with lots of archery & rapier (and we now have new moving targets stored in the Armoury).

We also had 4 combatants for the Rapier tournament, which Sir Siridean, as Earl Marshal, kindly supervised as Marshal, with a newcomer to the Barony, Connor, winning the day.

Baronial Words

Words from the Baron and Baroness

May A.S.XLIII (May 2008)

We've just come home from the Investiture of Innilgard's newest Baron and Baroness, Aylwin and Ingereth. It was lovely to see so many Stormholders wayfaring, meeting new people and having a good time.

Our thanks to the people who came to the demo at the State Library Medieval Fair Day, we've received some good advertising and are likely to see more new faces as people come to check us out. Please remember to make them feel welcome.

We are really pleased to see people taking on tasks and activities. Our thanks this month to Madelina who is organising dancing, and Fridr who arranged the potluck for our New Year Celebration. Also, we will be having a Midwinter Event! Thanks to Rauf and Ava for taking on this task - look out for more information is this Stormscroll.

Baronial Banner Project

We're making silk banners.

Our process is based on the banners made by Southron Guard and documented here

Other groups in Lochac have made banners of all different sizes and I've collected scale drawings of them all.

Here is a closeup of the proposed Stormhold personal banner To the right of the Stormhold or Lochac device, it is intended that members of the populace put their own design/device. The two stripes are for your motto or a patch of solid colour. The stripes are optional.

Baronesses Wish List

This is a list of the things the Baroness wishes she had, or that she'd like other people to organise. It will grow (and shrink, I hope) over time

If you don't understand something, or just want to know moreplease ask.

Help with organising Baronial Commendation Tokens
They are currently a silver background with a gold drakkar, so require two separate casts.

Heavyweight felted wool to make Hoods of Warmth
Each hood uses a bit more than half a meter of fabric. If the wool is felted, it doesn't have to be hemmed, speeding up the construction process considerably.
